'Twenty Questions With...' is a new feature for the supporters' club by where we interview someone related to the club, hopefully on a monthly basis. First up is central defender, Keil O'Brien.
Keil signed for Trafford during pre-season 2017/18. Since a tough start, Keil's performances have been fantastic (as have the whole teams).
Name: Keil O'Brien
Position: Central Defender
Previous Clubs Include: Glossop NE, Mossley, Chorley, Bury and Moreland FC (Australia).
1) Obviously this is your first season at Trafford, what do you make of the club in general so far?
Yeah it's a great club! There's so many fans behind the scenes who do so much for the club which just shows how good a club it is.
2) In terms of yourself personally, how have you settled into the club and do you feel more comfortable playing as part of a back three since the formation change?
It is always tough when you come into a new team I find. After a few games, when you find out other players strengths and weaknesses, it becomes lot easier. Personally, I prefer playing in a three, feels like it's easier to read and take control of the game.
3) You played out in Australia for a while. What was that like?
It was a great life experience! Absolutely loved it! Football just isn't the same as it is in England though!
4) Who has been the biggest influence on your game and why?
There's been a lot of people who have had an influence on me... it's hard to pick out just one.
5) Who is the best player you've ever faced in non-league?
Another tough question! I remember I was 17 or 18 and played against big Deano (James Dean, also at Trafford), it was when he was at Fylde and everyone was talking about him! He was just so strong, awkward and back then, quick. I came off the pitch like i'd been battered! However, we did win 1-0 and after the game I let him out of my pocket.
6) Do you have any football superstitions?
No and never have had any.
7) Who is the best trainer at Trafford?
Scotty (Scott Sephton)... AKA The Terminator.
8) And the worst?
Darbo!
9) You've only gone and got yourself in a scrap, which player/coach from the club do you want by your side?
Deano or Scotty... Can't lose!
10) Do you have a favourite away ground?
Ain't got a clue, sorry!
11) Funniest team mate?
Linny (Paul Linwood). The guy is relentless!
12) Tea or coffee?
Coffee
13) Oasis or Stone Roses?
Oasis
14) Chinese or curry?
Chinese
15) Footy boots of choice?
Nike's
16) First ever car?
The silver surfer! (Renault Clio).
17) Favourite footy team?
United!
18) Favourite ever player?
Roy Keane
19) Favourite sport (other than football)?
Golf
20) Christmas just gone... best gift you received?
Best gift was... being let back in the house after the missus threw me out for not coming back until the morning after my works Xmas doo!
Cheers to Keil for being the first (of many) in a series of club interviews and all the best for the season. Top lad!
