21 Questions With... Andy Glinka

In these very strange times of not much to do, we are going to be doing a number of supporters 21 questions with... if not to fill your days with excitement, then to kill time for us doing them!

First up is yours truly, supporters club chairman extraordinaire, Andy Glinka aka Glinks aka Specky Mongo aka Blinky...

1.       Favourite game?
Tough one this. There have been so many but just based on the game, play-off semi-final win against New Mills was amazing: the whole day – bank holiday, sun out and a win! Beating Kendal (4 nil I think) on the last day to get in the play-offs was also class. The famous video day!

2.       Best moment supporting Trafford?
Again tough to choose. For me personally, I’d say both were in defeat: the support at Prescott and in the Manchester Final v FCUTD were great. We sang our heads off and in defeat, we kept supporting the team. I felt truly proud on both occasions to be a Trafford fan.

3.       Worst moment?
Ossett Town away, last game of the season: drew 1-1 but we needed a win and as a result we missed out on the play-offs. Again we sang our heads off at full-time and Tom and the lads all came out and thanked us – even though they were equally gutted. Great moment again despite defeat… no one loses with the verve and spirit we do!

4.       Best song?
    Trafford All Over The World!

5.       Worst song?
Matt Brown’s song for Matty Bryan!!! No matter how much he tried to get us to sing it, it never took off. Too many words to remember when you've sunk a few... that and it was rubbish!

6.       Favourite fan?
All top guys… anyone who likes the Tarzan yelp though is a winner!

7.       Worst fan?
Darbo when he turns up for not standing behind the goals and singing. Andy Lee after a sniff of beer can be a right nasty, viscous b*stard with his tounge. No one is ever safe! Haha But even he has his moments.

8.       Favourite player?
Current favourite player is Kelly and Palmer. Of all time? Wow – still Kelly for me. I knew him before he turned up here and had seen him play against us twice for Chorley; outstanding player. If it weren't for injuries,  he'd be a playing pro football. Love that he plays for Trafford! Oh, and Buuuurnsy… always top with the fans.

9.       Least favourite player?
Some proper grumpy lads have played for us haha Lee Nev would never let on!

10.   Funniest moment?
Loads… probably on the way home from Clitheroe on the fun bus and Andy Lee’s glasses went flying out of the window and Jonny went flying into the front seat!

11.   Best goal? Jack Dorney’s late winner against Ossett Albion at home. Last minute winner led to some major beer spillages and some top photographs.

12.   Best away ground? In terms of just the ground, Nantwich Town has a decent pitch, big bar and is close to the town centre.

13.   Best away day?
We have loads to be fair, some proper good days out. I mean Clitheroe is one I always enjoy when the fixtures are announced but Lancaster (FA CUP) and  Kings Lynn were amazing… looong day that one.

14.   Worst away ground?
Really didn’t enjoy Garforth and even though it was a great occasion, Cammell Laird!

15.   Least favourite team?
Only based on the fact they are always tough, Prescott away!

16.   Best fans?
Colne fans are top. Up there with us lot!

17.   Hopes for the future?
I really want to see us get promoted with Bakes in charge. Imagine the scenes!

18.   Pre match routine?
Tell the Mrs that I need to leave early to help out at Trafford and then slope off to the Brewchimp for some early ones! It's fine... she doesn't read these.

19.   Pre match drink?
Home game = pint of Freedom. Away = Heineken at the Bird

20.   Best performance by an individual?
Shelton Payne in the FA Cup v Droylsden. Shelton scored all 5 goals in a 5-1 win away from home!

21.   Nomination?
    Muggsy

Celebrating Jack Dorney's winning goal v Ossett Albion (Question 11)
