Player of the Month, March - Rees Welsh

Whilst March was an up and down month in terms of results, it was a month that pretty much guaranteed safety. Which is something many of us would of been happy with from the out set. The fact is we have more than held our own and with a strong finish, we could even finish in the top 10...what a great season! (and that's not even mentioning the cup final!)

Anyway, back to the POTM. At yesterdays meeting we voted between Shelton Payne and Rees Welsh for our March award. Shelton had a prolific March in terms of goals scored and has filled in well playing up front for the injured Michael Oates. However, Rees Welsh was in the end voted POTM for March. I think in particular, Rees has been outstanding the last 3 or 4 games and during a less than average team performance v Barwell, Rees stood out. He has been fantastic going forward, creating chances but he has also improved defensively and is looking more and more at home in a Trafford shirt!

Well done to Rees from all at the supporters club and good luck for the remainder of the season.
