Fans' Five Favourites #1...

Every now and then, we will be doing a FANS' FIVE FAVOURITES, where members of the supporters club will answer five questions about their favourites of Trafford FC. First up we have a couple of our longer standing supporters, Mike 'Cappy' Capp and Gaz Gardner. So here are their favourite:

Cappy

Cappy at Colne FC a few years ago.

1) Current player

Mike Burke

2) All-time player

Aaron Burns

3) Away day trip

New Mills 2013 - Play-off semi final. It was a hot bank holiday Monday, and we had 2 coaches: one with the players on and Cappy's Tours Mini Bus, the team bus got stuck in traffic so the game got delayed whilst our bus arrived on time so had plenty of time for drinking beer in the sunshine! The support was brilliant and we won 2-0 after extra time!

4) Off the pitch moment

The journey home from Consett! The game was snowed off and the coach broke down on the way home, so I booked a taxi to the next village where there were more pubs! Chris Adams got wind of it and the next thing a fleet of taxis were ordered to ferry the players and some more fans as well. Chris got us all a load of free chip butties as a bribe so we would all stay in that pub. The committee stayed with the coach. 3 hours plus later, a replacement coach arrives but it couldn't use the same back lanes so they had to detour via Leeds to come and pick us up, by which time, we were all plastered! I'm not sure Dave Murray has ever forgiven me!

5) Trafford goal

Deon Depiaza v Salford City. We were both the top 2 teams in the NWCFL. Deon scored the 2nd goal late on; the anticipation as he went through one-on-one and the celebration when he scored! At 2-0, we knew we would go on and win the league, which we did!

Gaz Gardner

1) Current player

Mike Burke

2) All-time player

Mike Dunphy

3) Away day trip

The play-off final at Cammell Laird in 2013. The game itself wasn't the best but to win on penalties and gain promotion to our highest ever level, the Evo-Stik Premier, was fantastic.

4) Off the pitch moment

The mad celebrations with the fans and players on the pitch after the penalty saves from Tom Read and the winning penalty from Flash (Paul Ashton).

Some fans are on the pitch. They think it's all over... it is now!

5) Trafford FC goal

Danny Frost pile-driver from 35 yards out at home v Colne FC with five minutes to go. Proved to be the winner!
