Man of the Match v Frickley

Did that just happen?!!!

Any kind of win today would have been brilliant but to witness probably the best goal I will ever see in the flesh as well was more than a bonus!
If you were one of the lucky 200+ fans there then you know what I am on about. My words simply would not do it justice! It was too good!

For that goal alone Shelton Payne could easily have been chosen as the TFCSC MotM, but there were other contenders too.

Nia Bayunu was immense at the back and carried on from where he did last time out. Michael Oates scored two goals and held the ball up well, Tommy Read was solid and made one or two great saves (we'll forget about the air shot ;-), Chris Palmer was ace in midfield and young 17 year old Clev Beadle slotted in nicely at right back, but new TFCSC member, Simon Benson chose, and rightly so, Martyn Andrews as the MotM!

Considering we were missing 4 first team players through suspension (2 of them midfielders), we were in need of a big performance from Martyn today and he stood up to the plate winning every header, controlling the centre of the park and scoring what was up until then, the goal of the game!

Well done Martyn and the rest of the lads and we now look forward to two big away games. My only disappointment from today's game was not getting to see our new wonder sub get on the pitch... who is this Garry Vaughan anyway?
