Welcome to Trafford FC's Supporters Club Blog!

Firstly, welcome to you all.
After the amazing success of our beloved club, both on and off the pitch, it was agreed at the recent open meeting that we would set up a new supporters' club... and here it is in the form of a BLOG! Here we will post any ideas, supporters'/club news, opinions, views, supporters' man of the match and there will also be a forum (coming soon) for all fans to view and express YOUR opinion(s).

We will also be setting up our own YouTube channel where you can watch match highlights!

The supporters' club has the full backing of the club and we will be liaising together to help Trafford FC in any way we can, but it is run by the supporters' so we would appreciate all your support!

Last season was fantastic and the support was even better, but we want to kick on now and improve ALL areas of the club. Your local club NEEDS you...

  1. Oooh, a Trafford blog. I keep meaning to attend a home match given that I'm within walking distance of Shawe View and so much of what I've read (often in blogs) suggests it's a well-run club that plays the game as it should be played.

Way back when I used to have a season ticket for a well-known neighbouring club with a recently retired manager. I just lost interest and probably a little of the love too. The grotesque rise in player salaries wed to the rampant consumerism behind ticket price inflation did for me though I still follow United.

So yes, Trafford, newly promoted Trafford, now of the Premier League: how do you think, the club will adjust to the next step up?

I've always thought there's a lot of potential to strengthen the supporter base because it's a football area, because the top flight game continues to price people out and because watching in the pub is just that. It feels like a club that could attract c250-300 crowds (as an average and on a Saturday) and it increasingly looks there's a lot of local interest - this blog and the Twitter account begin to make that point.

Maybe it's time to re-kindle my affection for live games, to take a chance on a date with Trafford hoping it might become a relationship...

  2. Should definitely come down mate, get behind the goal and join in with chanting, as im pretty sure our away support helped us win the playoffs along with the incredible efforts of the players and staff

  3. First of all, thank you for your comment and interest. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Whilst Trafford are a small club (compared to others in the premier league) we do have an ethos of playing football the right way and not spending money we haven't got!
We are trying to improve and one of the ways is through media such as Twitter and this blog.

You are right, it is a footballing area and it is sometimes hard to compete with many of the 'bigger' clubs such as the one you referred to but there is NOTHING like non-league football and you would be made very welcome. Trafford are a family friendly club with a great atmosphere (especially away!) and our support is definitely growing!

What is great about 'our' club is how accessible and accommodating everyone is. So, do take a chance on Trafford, it's a date you'll remember but be warned... Trafford FC is addictive! (just ask my wife!!)

  4. I would recommend going to watch Trafford to anyone who loves football. I've been only going since March - meant to go along since the start of the season - and it is addictive. Got the bug now for watching live games just like when I was a kid and my Dad took me to my first game. Even the kids come along - £11 for all three of us - it cannot be beaten for value for money, superb atmosphere and good football. Go non-league, go local - get down to Shawe View this season and you won't be disappointed.
